MD Tech Internship Program Funding Now Available

Last Updated on Sep 17, 2018 at 1:48pm | Workforce Development

The Maryland Technology Internship Program (MTIP) helps Maryland retain top talent by increasing the number of paid technical internships offered in the state. Funded by the State of Maryland and administered by UMBC, the program offers financial assistance to technology-based businesses, as well as state and local agencies, to hire more interns.

Internship funding is now available to technology-based businesses and state and local agencies offering paid internships.
The Maryland Technology Internship Program can reimburse employers for up to 50% of an intern's wage and up to $3,000 annually per intern ($1,800 for the first semester and $1,200 for subsequent semester).  Preference will be given to smaller businesses and employers seeking interns to fill technical and creative roles that require science, technology, engineering, and/or math (STEM) skills.

If you just hired a fall intern or are recruiting candidates, be sure to review the program details and apply.
