The Mountain Fresh Producers Association is hosting Spring Farmers Markets on select Saturdays in April and May.
The spring markets will be outdoors at the Mountain Fresh pavilion in downtown Oakland, 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. The dates are April 3, April 17, May 8, May 15 and May 22.
The spring market vendors will bring flowers, plants, fresh produce, eggs, meats, baked goods, jams and jellies, crafts and more.
“We’re very lucky to have such a wide variety of products available from our local farms, bakers, and artisans at our farmers market,” said Darlene Terlizzi, market manager. “The spring market will be a wonderful opportunity for folks to support local businesses by purchasing high quality, fresh items.”
The market is still following pandemic recommendations for masks and distancing.
Several vendors also offer online ordering for farmers market pickup.
Customers can shop with each vendor individually and pick up at the market. A small credit card fee is charged for online payment transactions to help cover costs. Customers may also pay with cash/check/EBT at the market.
When shopping in person, there is one entrance and exit to the pavilion. Customers are asked to follow one-way directional signage and to wear face coverings.
One customer should visit a vendor table at a time, and vendors will bag the items.
When using reusable bags, make sure they are clean and sanitized (most are machine washable).
The Mountain Fresh Producers Association is a nonprofit group of cooks, farmers, artisans and bakers in Western Maryland and North Central West Virginia.
The Mountain Fresh Farmers’ Market is a producer-only market, meaning its vendors must grow, make, bake or otherwise create the products they sell.
Summer markets will begin May 29. They will be held at the pavilion Saturdays and Wednesdays from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. through Oct. 30.
