Ribbon cutting ceremony for Geppert, McMullen, Paye & Getty: several men and women holding a red ribbon and a large pair of scissorsA ribbon cutting ceremony was held on Thursday, April 28, 2023, to celebrate the opening of Geppert, McMullen, Paye & Getty's Oakland branch.

Garrett County's Business Development Specialist and Chair of the Garrett County Diplomats, Connor Norman, led the ceremony.
 
Local dignitaries in attendance included Senator Mike McKay, County Commissioners Paul Edwards and Larry Tichnell, County Administrator Kevin Null, Oakland Mayor Kathy Shaffer, and Garrett County Chamber of Commerce Board Chair Andrew Fike. Delegate Jim Hinebaugh was unable to attend but sent an official citation to be presented during the ceremony.

Attendees congratulated Geppert, McMullen, Paye & Getty and thanked them members of the firm for providing a valuable service to the community.

Garrett County Diplomats Jessica Dijak, David Jochynek, Julie Mead, Connor Norman, Kristin Skeweris, and Emily Tobin assisted in the official ribbon cutting.

Geppert, McMullen, Paye & Getty is a general practice firm serving Western Maryland and the Eastern Panhandle of West Virginia in a broad range of legal services. The firm was founded in 1950 as Gunter & Geppert. It evolved into Gunter, Geppert and McMullen and, in the late 1970’s, became Geppert, McMullen, Paye & Getty.
