A ribbon cutting ceremony was held on Thursday, October 27th, 2023, to celebrate the opening of The Travel Mug
coffee shop, 168 Miller Street, Grantsville.
Garrett County's Business Development Specialist, Connor Norman, led the ceremony.
Local dignitaries in attendance included County Commissioners Paul Edwards, Commissioner Ryan Savage, and Larry Tichnell, and Garrett County Chamber of Commerce Interim President Andrew Fike.
Attendees congratulated proprietor Amy Workman and expressed the positive impact they believe it will have on the town of Grantsville.
Norman read a Senatorial Citation from Senator Chris Van Hollen’s office.
Amy expressed deep gratitude for the support of the community and how happy she was to go from the trailer to a physical location in just under a year.
“Shops like these are important for a variety of reasons,” said Paul Edwards, Commissioner. “They showcase our local flavors, attract visitors to our towns, and provide a place for the community to come together. Congratulations to the Workmans! We wish you great success.”
The Travel Mug is a small, family-owned coffee shop focused on serving Garrett County and the surrounding community.
The Travel Mug is open Monday through Friday from 6:30 AM to 3 PM and Saturday from 7 AM to 5 PM.
